I spend a lot of time outside. We feed the birds, plant flowers that attract hummingbirds & butterflies and basically have a mostly “do no harm” attitude towards the woodland creatures. Whenever I’m home alone, I find myself talking to the kitties – they even “meow” in answer. And it carries over to when I’m outside; the birds, chipmunks and squirrels all get chatted to when they come into the yard. Sometimes while I’m speaking to them, the dragonflies, moths and other assorted critters even get their pictures taken.
Today’s little lovely is Reluctant Debutant Poppy Parker. Her hair has been washed, her top ponytail was taken out and her hair was restyled. She is wearing the complete fashion (including the jewelry) that came with Mattel’s Christabelle Barbie. Since the gown was sewn on, I had to use a seam ripper to remove the thread holding the back together, sew down the raw edges and add a hook and eye closure. This time I did use a stand, since the gown covers it and I really didn’t want her getting dirty from falling over. She’s standing in the front garden among the flowers while an overcast sky barely illuminates the scene. A half-strength flash provides just enough light for the shot. Miss Poppy is so enchanting, she has even coaxed a little bug onto the bodice of her gown (like living jewelry) perhaps she is whispering in his ear. 😉
Blessed Is The One Who Takes Care Of God’s Creatures, Whom They Were Given Charge Of.
I didn’t like the Christabelle doll but that dress looks beautiful on Poppy!
