It’s easy to look on the bright side when the sun is shining. It’s a bit harder when it’s raining. And it’s been raining since Friday. But am I blue? No. How can I be? The world outside my window is practically glowing green with all the new growth the storms have spawned. My flowers are bursting with buds. If the rain ever ends (and it won’t until the end of the week according to the weather channel) I’ll be able to transfer my greenhouse seedlings into the gardens. Even though we’ve got stormy skies now – I can see ahead to the days of bright sunshine. Having a pair of super hero galoshes also helps bring a smile while I wait for the skies to clear – yes, I really do own a pair of pink rubber boots with Bat Girl, Wonder Woman and Super Girl on them and I wear them out in the snow and rain. 🙂

Aria Among The Azaleas

Aria Among The Azaleas

Today’s model is Dynamite Girls Chill Factor Aria. She is wearing Fashion Fever Barbie’s top, Barbie capris,  Fashionisatas Barbie’s shoes, Butterfly Art Barbie’s bracelet and the necklace from Peace & Love 70’s Barbie with the pendant removed (I added a wire closure to turn it into a double strand necklace). Her photo was taken yesterday in my aunt’s front garden. Proof that the dark, rainy days bring beautiful things.

Oh, boy! Well, we pulled out all the Christmas decorations today. LOL, decorating at our house is like an Olympic event.  It usually takes a few days to complete. But we got a good start today. It was awesome. We hang artificial pine garlands around the mirror over the fireplace mantle and all around the living room windows, then they are covered in lights and laden with tons of ornaments. For many years, we had real trees, but last year we got an artificial upside-down Christmas tree that hangs from the ceiling. That also gets trimmed to the gills with lights and ornaments.

My husband took the day off and I  made cinnamon rolls for breakfast as we began the festivities.  Later, he put a turkey in the oven and cooked up all the fixings for dinner. After hours of decorating, we tore into the meal with relish.  Now I can barely lift my arms after all that overhead work, so the rest will have to wait until tomorrow. But it’s already looking so nice. There’s nothing like the sparkle and gleam of holiday decorations to fill one’s heart to bursting with Christmas cheer. 🙂

Today’s model is Dynamite Girls Electro Pop Aria. She is wearing a dress & shoes borrowed from Barbie and over-the-knee socks of unknown origins. She’s standing on a ladder that I found at a church sale. The photo was taken in my living room in the front windows, among the Christmas decorations. I think I took this picture while using the camera’s “night photography” mode, but I’m not sure. I was messing around with the camera’s functions, trying to show the glow of  the lights while still using the flash to illuminate Aria.

Today hubby and I took a nice long ride out and about to see the leaves changing color. It’s amazing to behold all the trees wearing red, orange and gold. We stopped at a few different places to walk, look around and take pictures. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day.

Aria Chillin' On A Perfect Fall Day

The new Dynamite Girls Chill Factor Aria is today’s model. She is wearing a sweater that I got at the mall a few years ago in a women’s store (I can’t remember the name – the sweater was sold as a Christmas ornament on a little hanger), a My Scene Barbie skirt, Masterpiece Theatre Giselle’s tights and Checking Out Colette’s boots. Aria is reclining on some tree roots on the bank of McMichael’s creek in town with the trees in full autumn splendor in the background.

We’ve been experiencing some seriously warm weather for springtime in Pennsylvania. I’ve never had so many flowers planted so early, nor have I dipped into my “summer” clothes so often this early in the season. It’s a welcome surprise, a great little gift from Mother Nature. And I’ve been enjoying it to the fullest. My dollies have also broken out their summer threads, and every chance I get, I’ve been dragging them outside to play.

Aria At Sunset

Aria At Sunset

Dynamite Girls Aria from the first wave has had a her original ponytails taken out and reset higher on her head. I just love that look, so fun and summery. She’s taken a halter dress from Mattel’s closet and donned a pair of Fashion Royalty sunglasses. She’s had her photo shoot in my backyard at sunset with a flash to light her in the gathering gloom. It was a mostly cloudy day, and though I had hoped the sun would squeak out to provide a more colorful sunset, it remained hidden and merely faded to shades of darkening blues.

In All Your Life, You’ll Never See The Same Sunset Twice.

If one is good, two are better. In my doll collection, I rarely have just one doll in a series. Usually I end up with another and another, you know how it goes. Oh, she’s lonely, she needs a friend. Then they can share clothes, shoes, you name it.

For Christmas, I received two such gal pals: Aria & Rufus Blue Dynamite Girls from the ElectroPop line. They immediately got redressed. Since they can share clothes with Misaki, Barbie and Nu Face dolls, they had plenty of outfits to choose from.
