Well, not really…it’s a Roadmaster Luxury Liner bicycle. But, I’m such a fan of that line from The Muppet Movie, that I just had to use it for today’s blog title. Heh, heh. Anyway, I’m still working on sharing more photos from our trip down the Jersey shore. So, here they are…

Biking on the Boardwalk

Today’s model is Ask Any Girl Poppy Parker. Her hair has been washed, brushed out and pulled back with hair clips found at the Dollar store. Her bike is a limited edition scale model of a Roadmaster Luxury Liner made by the Brunswick corporation in 1998 – a fun flea market find. Poppy is wearing a tank top from one of the Fashion Fever Barbie dolls, Cali Girl Barbie’s shorts, a one-of-a-kind crocheted bikini made by me and some random Barbie sneakers (Teen Skipper’s maybe?, not sure).  Her photo was taken on the boardwalk down the shore in Wildwood, New Jersey.

We went on vacation earlier this month and  I’m finally getting around to downloading, editing, uploading and posting photos. It’s going to take a while to get to them all, but here’s a taste…

Poppy #2 On the Balcony of Our Room – You Can See the Beach, Boardwalk & Ocean From Up Here!

Today’s models are Ask Any Girl Poppy Parker and a one-of-a-kind rerooted Look of Love Poppy Parker with repainted lips.

Ask Any Girl is wearing Stylish Escape Veronique’s sunglasses, an unknown Mattel Barbie top (possibly Fashion Avenue or My Scene), Holiday in the Hamptons Poppy’s trousers, Bonjour Misaki’s sandals and handmade jewelry (earrings & bracelets) made by me. She is carrying luggage from the Poppy Parker as Sabrina Most Sophisticated giftset. Photo #1 was taken at the front door to our room, photo #2 was taken in the room on the entertainment center.

Our second model is wearing Pretty in Plaid Barbie’s dress, Jet Set: High Toned Rayna’s bracelets & earrings and My Scene sunglasses. She is carrying luggage from the Poppy Parker as Sabrina Most Sophisticated giftset and Girl of the Moment Veronique’s train case. Her photo was taken on our room’s balcony.

There are newer, more posh places to stay in Wildwood, but none have what I consider the perfect location & view. Looking out from our balcony, you can see the boardwalk, beach & ocean. At night you can see the rides lit up on the piers in the distance. The great “Wildwoods” sign is center stage, with huge concrete beach balls leading up to it – such a fab photo spot!

We had a most excellent time and there are many more photos to come…eventually. 😉

We got a dumping of snow again overnight. And it’s been snowing all day with some freezing rain mixed in over the last hour. Hubby stayed home (yay!) and shoveled the driveway while I took dollie pictures. Then we both shoveled them out over at the neighbor’s house. Now a pot of stew is on the stove and we’re settled in like bug’s in a rug. The weather forecasters are predicting it will continue to snow through the night and into the morning.

Poppy And The Spring Snowstorm

Today’s model is Ask Any Girl Poppy Parker. Her hair has been restyled and put up in a ribbon. She has a brand new ooak scarf made by me. I finger-knitted it this morning after seeing all that snow. 🙂 Poppy is wearing the jacket and leather-like gloves that came with the gift set. She is also wearing Best Models: on location Monte Carlo’s trousers. Her photo was taken in our side yard this morning while the snow swirled down upon us.

If you follow the doings at Integrity Toys, then you know that they just rolled out preview photos of this year’s collections. I’ve been busily dreaming of which ones to put on my preorder list and hoping I’ll be able to get them. The edition sizes are quite limited and the list of dolls is long. There was one doll revealed that captured my attention and my imagination: Nu.Fantasy Pure. She’s a couture take on Snow White from the fairy tales and utilizes the Fashion Royalty NuFace “Erin” head mold. I love the name. Pure. So today’s shoot was inspired by an Erin doll named “Pure”.

Pure Erin

Pure Erin

Today’s model is Making A Scene Erin. She is wearing Ask Any Girl Poppy Parker’s dress. And surely she looks to fit the definition of pure, no? Oh, there’s an undercurrent of sass, mystery, melancholy and knowing – she wouldn’t be herself otherwise. 😉 But I like that about her. The photo was taken around midday on the road in front of my house, after thunderstorms moved through and the melting snows turned an ordinary day into a misty, foggy dreamworld.

It’s been a long, cold, brutal winter. But the sun came out today and the temperature climbed above freezing. The snows are receding. My heart is filled with hope and the promise of springtime is capering on the breeze. My soul swells to ten feet tall and there is magic in the air.

Poppy In The Sky

Poppy In The Sky

Today’s model is Ask Any Girl Poppy. I washed her hair, brushed it out and put it in a loose updo. She is wearing So In Style Pastry Trichelle’s dress. Her photo was taken in the afternoon sunshine with the fabulous sky in the background. The whole series of photos today (see my Flickr photostream for the rest) was a floating, flying, joyful set done in the spirit of celebrating the simple happiness of being alive.

I have a tendency to shoot one subject at a time. I don’t do too many photos with two or more models. Which is a shame, because I do like the way the pictures look when dolls are interacting. It seems more real. I find it much harder when I have two models to keep an eye on, but the results make think that maybe I should do it more often.

Poppy & Rafe Take A Stroll In The Late Afternoon Sunlight

Poppy & Rafe Take An Afternoon Stroll

Today’s models are Ask Any Girl Poppy Parker and Barbie Basics 2.0 model 15 Ken (I’ve renamed him Rafe). Both have been to the hair salon for a wash, style and air dry treatment. Rafe is wearing his original ensemble with the addition of Twilight Edward’s shirt. Poppy is wearing LIV School’s Out Katie’s shirt, LIV Walmart exclusive Katie’s trousers and Chao/Ciao Misaki’s boots. Rafe has also lent Poppy his jacket (originally from Twilight Edward) to keep her warm during their jaunt outdoors. The photo was taken in our yard at the bottom of the driveway.

This morning, as I was having my coffee on the porch, it started to snow flurry. It began with tiny bits of icy shimmer dancing in the cold, weak sunlight and then it grew. The sun lost it’s battle with the clouds and then the snow fell in earnest. The wind picked up and began to swirl the ever-growing multitude of flakes. Fascinating.

Though I am still in the grips of a terrible cold, I could not let this opportunity pass me by. I ran inside and grabbed the doll from yesterday’s photo shoot.  I wrapped one of the new scarves I made around her and zipped back outside.

Poppy In The Snow

Poppy In The Snow

Here is my favorite of the bunch of photos I took. There are more on my Flickr pages, should you like to see them.

Oh, and the flurries did not last too long. Before I knew it, the snow stopped falling, the sun peeped back out and melted away all trace of what had happened. Almost as if by Faerie Magic, the sparkling spectacle was simply here one moment and gone the next. How lucky I was to have the time to enjoy it.

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Still sick. *cough, cough* This cold is a nightmare! But, I’m not too sick to take pictures.

Poppy Trims The Tree

Poppy Trims The Tree

Today’s model is Ask Any Girl Poppy Parker. Since she had helmet head – stiff as a brick – she got her hair washed and combed out. As nice as her original fashions are (and they are really nice!) I changed her into a more festive outfit. She is wearing a Barbie shirt, a Christopher & Banks sweater with the top two buttons and the mittens removed, Crazy Girl Misaki’s skirt, fishnet stockings of unknown origins and Fashion Royalty boots (maybe from Picture This Erin?). The back ground is scrapbook paper attached to foam core with push pins, two marble tiles from Home Depot for the floor and a Christmas tree from Borders with a craft store star and home made ornaments (craft store beads strung on shaped heavy gauge wire). The scene was lit with two lamps and the camera’s flash.
