Ugh…I have no excuse for not getting around to the lingering remains of winter doll photos…except that there are just so many.

So, even though it is technically spring, I’m still in winter mode. And I probably will be for a while. What can I say? I still have more winter wonder to share…

The Gang At The Snow Caves

The Gang At The Snow Caves

You’ve already met the models, so see previous posts for the details. But the location is new. After all the shoveling, the snow piles were pretty substantial. Given such an opportunity, I couldn’t resist digging out a cavern and steps for the dolls. When the afternoon sun lit it up, a mess of dolls came out to play. The lighting didn’t last long, but it was enough to grab a few pictures. Woo- hoo!

Winter Still Has A Few Icy Gasps Left

I know by now almost everyone is ready to say ‘good-bye’ to winter and ‘hello’ to spring already. Or at the very least, most people would like to get away from all this snow. I’d be lying to say I’m loving all the wind and sub-freezing temperatures, but (and there’s always a but, isn’t there?) winter has charmed me with it’s icy beauty. I love the sparkling icicles, glittering snow and fabulously patterned frost. I am kind of tired of bundling up in enough clothes to outfit a small army just to walk out the door. And shoveling the ice/sleet/snow mix off the driveway has made me feel older than my years. Not to mention how dangerous it is to venture out onto the roads. Yipes! But there are as many reasons to love the winter as there are to dislike it. Anyway, in just a couple months it’ll all be nothing but a memory.

Kyori in the Snow Cavern

Kyori in the Snow Cavern

LOL, look what I did today! Yep, I spent some time carving an icy snow cavern out of one of the snow piles on the side of our driveway. It’s amazing what you can do with a spoon, butter knife, dog food scoop and a bamboo garden stake. They worked  fantastically in the making of an outdoor environment for my dollies.

My model of the moment is Living Dangerously Kyori. She’s wearing A Model Life Barbie’s blouse, trousers from the silkstone BFMC Country Bound fashion set, Dynamite Girls Eltin’s coat and a pair of playline Barbie boots. Her photo was taken in the late afternoon among the sunlight and shadows in her new snow cavern.

I Once Wondered What It Would Be Like To Live In An Igloo…
