Here’s the last of the photos from our day at Point Pleasant beach.

Cole Tries Her Luck at the Claw Game

Cole Tries Her Luck at the Claw Game

Today’s model is Painted Black Colette. She is wearing a Fashion Fever Barbie top, Barbie shorts, Barbie sandals and Fashion Royalty earrings. Her photo was taken on the claw game in the arcade on the boardwalk at Point Pleasant, NJ. We had a really great time there.

The beach was great, the boardwalk was fun and the dollie photo ops were incredibly numerous. I have to give a huge shout out to hubby – he indulges me with my dolls – and merely laughs when I haul three beach bags of doll stuff with me for a day at the beach. His encouragement and acceptance are a joy that I am truly grateful for.

Hubby’s vacation has started out with a really nice day. Finally, we’ve had a whole day without rain, filled with sunshine. Yippee! I hope the next two weeks are more of the same.

Beekeeper Cole

Beekeeper Cole

Today’s model is Checking Out Colette. She is wearing an Anna Sui Barbie top, Teen Skipper shorts (I think, either that or Mary Kate and Ashley’s because they are quite tight), Model Muse shoes, some 4mm jump rings as rings, Pop Life earrings switched to a thinner post and Tarina Tarantino Barbie’s bracelet. Her photo was taken in our back yard in the evening sunshine.

If you look closely, you’ll see a visiting bee to the left of the wildflower blossom. It was hard to choose the featured photo from this set, since I took so many different ones. I hope you will click on the Flickr link (on the right side of this blog post) to view the rest if you’ve got the time. I think you’ll be glad you did.

I took the time to go out and play today. Yeah, it was hotter than blazes. But after a snowy winter and a rainy spring, who’s going to complain? I had to take it slow and keep hydrated because the temps were nearing ninety. A rarity for May in the Poconos. Ah, fun in the sun!

Cole - Wading In The Sunshine

Cole - Wading In The Sunshine

Today’s model is Perk Colette. She is wearing a My Scene (I think – the memory ain’t what it once was) top and skirt, Barbie sandals, Fashion Royalty sunglasses, Fashion Royalty earrings, an armlet from a collector Barbie (can’t remember the name), a Barbie bracelet, a 4mm jump ring as a ring, and a necklace that I constructed from a vintage earring. Cole is wading in the bird bath in our front yard. We found a perfect little metal mermaid statue for it in T J Maxx – I love it. Her photo was taken in the late afternoon sunshine.

Sunshiny Cole

Sunshiny Cole

Today’s model is Painted Black Colette. She is wearing an ensemble from a recent Sporty Fashionistas Barbie fashion set. Her photo was taken yesterday afternoon in the neighbor’s yard. They’ve been busy planting and invited me over to take doll photos among the flowers. How could I resist such a sweet invitation, especially when I spotted that dollie-sized flower cart? Awesome. Colette was a perfect fit behind the wheel.

As you know, I’m smitten with the new offerings coming out of Integrity Toys. Today I made my preorder choices and was able to get most of what I wanted before they sold out. Happily, Color Infusion Cosmic Love Amelie is one that will be joining my collection. Boy, is that girl fierce! She was the inspiration for today’s photo.

Colorful Cole

Today’s model is Odd Girl Out Colette. She is wearing Best Models on location: Barcelona Barbie’s dress,ย  Fashion Royalty jewelry and a pair of Model Muse Barbie sandals. Her photo was taken in my driveway, overlooking the street in front of my house, in the late evening sunshine.

I always laugh a little bit when I hear the phraseย pictures don’t lie. Sure they do. Mine do all the time. A flash or upping the exposure can make a dark scene seem bright. By using a larger aperture on the camera, I can blur out anything distracting in the background – putting all of the focus on my little models. There are a million little tricks to get your camera to make things look better or different than they actually are.

Cole Takes A Walk In The Snow

Cole Takes A Walk In The Snow

Today’s model is Checking Out Colette. She’s wearing an ooak knit hat from a talented artist on Esty, an ooak scarf made by me, Cher Barbie’s jacket, a Hillary Duff Barbie top, RuPaul’s jeans and Barbie boots that are covered in snow. Her photo was taken in the late morning in our backyard.

The illusion here is that she’s got a wooden barbecue skewer slipped up the back of her pant leg with about six inches protruding down into the snow on my picnic table so she can appear to be standing on her own, taking a walk in the woods.

You’re In Pictures Now, Baby. Nothin’ Here Is Real! ๐Ÿ˜‰

We were passing through town today and happened upon the second annual Stroudsburg Pennsylvania Ice Festival. Of course, it caught us unawares. There was no dollie and no cameras in the car. Thankfully, hubby was nice enough to head back home so I could quickly dress today’s model and grab the cameras. Back out we went.

In case you didn’t see last year’s photos, the ice festival is a tiny affair – just some ice sculptures placed in front of the local businesses on Main Street. If you get there earlier than we did, you can even see the artists sculpting them. It was not publicized very well unfortunately, last year there was a short story on the news, but not this year. It’s too bad, because although it was cold and windy, I think there would have been more attendees had they known about it.

It was about four o’clock in the evening when we got there, thirty-five degrees, overcast and windy as all get out. There were even snow flurries! Winter is definitely still here. It took about an hour to see everything and take photos. My dollie collected many hearts on her little modeling jaunt. Shopkeepers, kids and adults all stopped and took a peek at her as she went from one sculpture to the next. I even had a few folks taking her photo as she posed on the sculptures. And a couple fans handed off their cameras to me asking me to take a picture of them with my little diva. She was quite popular.

We finished the photo session with a quick stop at Starbucks for a grande peppermint mocha with whipped cream to chase off the chill. LOL, towards the end, I could barely feel my fingers. The wind chill was downright wicked.

The model braving winter’s cold is Painted Black Colette. She’s wearing Crazy Girl Misaki’s zip-up hoodie, a shirt and shoes from some recent Barbie fashion packs and Barbie Basics jeans. Her photo was taken in front of the jeweler’s in the evening, under overcast skies, with the aid of a flash.

What A Cool Day On Main Street!

I was going through some older photos and found a set of doll pictures that I took last year. I never got around to editing them, so they never made it into my Flickr photostream or onto my blog. So, finally they see the light of day…

The Girls Glimpse A Pair Of Deer During A Stroll In The Snow

The Girls Glimpse A Pair Of Deer During A Stroll In The Snow

Deer sightings are pretty common in my neck of the woods, and it seems almost magical when you spot them walking through the snow. So when I found these lovely miniature deer at the flea market, I knew they’d eventually make it into one of my dollie photo shoots.

Today’s models are Painted Black Erin and Odd Girl Out Colette. Erin is wearing the jacket from wave 2 Dynamite Girls Reese and a Barbie scarf that I got in an Advent gift pack. Cole is wearing a jacket and skirt from a Kari Mitchell fashion pack. I set the scene up in my front yard in the morning after a fresh snowfall last December. I remember that one of the neighbors was outside kinda looking over and I figured they probably thought I was crazy, but, eh, I’ve grown accustomed to that, so it really didn’t matter. ๐Ÿ˜‰ The important thing is just to get the shot and have fun doing it.

Do you remember cutting out paper snowflakes when you where a kid? I do. It was a lot of fun. I remember cutting shapes into the pattern, especially hearts and Christmas trees. I also remember the mess of little white bits everywhere. Good times. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cole And The Paper SnowFlakes

Cole And The Paper SnowFlakes

Today’s model is Odd Girl Out Colette. She is wearing a Barbie Santa hat and Christmas dress, Red Rabbit Misaki’s stockings, Urban Outfitting Nadja’s gloves, Fire Fly Agnes’ boots and a scarf that I made myself. She’s holding a paper snowflake garland that I found a Target a few years ago. She’s standing on a ladder that you’ve seen in previous shoots. And if the background looks familiar, it’s because it’s taken in front of the Christmas tree and decked out pine garlands surrounding the front windows in my living room.

Since There’s Still No Snow Falling Outside,

We’ll Have to Make Our Own Snowflakes.

Do you remember my post from Saturday? If not, I’ll refresh your memory. I got Grand Entrance Colette all dressed up and ready for a major photo shoot, but I ran out of time and had to do some quickie shots of her instead. Well, I got a chance to give her some proper attention. So, here she is.
