Today’s model is Clash Control Erin. She is wearing Lady In Waiting Dania’s dress (with a Fashion Royalty “W” pin attached to it’s bodice) worn over Monogram Discreet’s bodysuit (because Dania’s dress is made from fabric that can and will stain a doll if worn alone), a handmade crinoline slip for fullness, Pure Evil Misaki’s stockings, Outsider Misaki’s boots and Fashion Royalty earrings. Her photos were taken earlier this week when we visited the NJ Botanical Gardens at Skylands Manor. The pictures where taken in the afternoon under changeable overcast/sunny skies.

I took so many pictures. Hit my Flickr link if you wish to see the rest. πŸ™‚

So, I guess you figured out that I had a wonderful time dragging four Misakis all around Skylands for photos. I hope you aren’t tired of seeing so many shots from our visit. If you have, you’ll be happy to know that this is the final picture from the shoot at Skylands. (And if you haven’t seen enough, there’s plenty more on my Flickr pages, just click the link on the side. πŸ˜‰ ) I’ve saved the best for last, a group shot of the girls…

The Misaki Girls Invade Skylands

The Misaki Girls Invade Skylands

Whoo-Wee! This was a tough one setting up. They went over like dominoes a few times, but no dollies were harmed in the making of the photo. πŸ™‚ No trick photography here, just careful balancing and patience. It was much like building a house of cards, LOL. The photo was taken in the afternoon in bright (and hot, whew!) sunlight.

If you haven’t figured out by know, I like flowers almost as much as I like dolls. Put them together, and I am powerless to resist. I guess it’s the combination of two beautiful things, each enhancing each other’s beauty, that makes me pair them so often in my photos.

The last of the lovelies to accompany us on our trip toΒ  Skylands is Amazon exclusive Crazy Girl Misaki. She’s wearing a Barbie dress and bangle bracelets, a Bratz Pirates cross bracelet and a necklace that I made myself. Her photo was taken in the perennial garden under overcast skies.

I love looking at old historical houses. I like to imagine what it might have been like to reside there back in it’s heyday. I dream of sumptuous parties – how fantastically I would have decorated the rooms indoors and then have it spill outside into the vast lawns and gardens. I imagine outdoor tables with white linen tablecloths, a myriad of candles and huge sculpted bowls made of ice on silver platters, laden with sugared and chocolate-dipped fruits. While inside the air would be perfumed with the smell of spice scented candles, flowers brought in from the gardens, arranged in great urns and long tables of an incredible variety of rare foods created by my personal master chef. Everyone would sparkle and shine in their summer frocks and finery, each one more charming than the next. Yeah, those grand old houses, they set me to dreaming incredible dreams. πŸ™‚

Still showing photos from Skylands, Tokyo Here We Go Misaki also made the trip. She’s wearing the dress from Lady Like Amelie and a bracelet I made myself. The photo was taken in the late afternoon, under overcast skies using a quarter-strength flash to shed some light on Miss Misaki.

I’ve been quite enjoying having hubby around. He’s still on vacation from work and it’s great. We’ve been visiting many local sites and experiencing them as tourists. It’s funny how most people look forward to going away, but being where we are, we don’t have to go very far. Living in the Poconos means that the Jersey shore, PA hiking trails and NYC are all within driving distance. And then there’s the added bonus of sleeping in my own comfy bed at the end of the day. God bless the “staycation”.

Jeannie at the Skylands Manor House

Jeannie at the Skylands Manor House

My Crazy Girl Misaki, renamed Jeannie, accompanied us to Skylands yesterday. Here she is in front of the manor house. She’s in typical tourist garb: Barbie ice cream overalls, purple sun visor & silver bracelets and Mattel’s LeAnn Rimes doll’s strapless ruffle top. The photo was taken in the afternoon under sunny skies.

It’s a tourist attraction, it will never be the same…”

We’re still on vacation and doing day trips. Today’s location was Skylands manor and botanical gardens in New Jersey. It’s worth a look for the flowers alone, but you’ll also find beautiful architecture in the manor house and other buildings, fantastic ironwork on the gates and tons of statuary, detailed urns and whimsical fountains. It’s like something out of a fairytale.

Summer on the Goose Statue

One of the dolls I brought with me is Summer Blues Misaki. Here she does her best Mother Goose impression on a statue in the gardens. She’s wearing an older Barbie Hilary Duff fashion pack set and Fashion Royalty platform sandals. The photo was taken in the late afternoon under overcast skies.
