So, yeah, it’s no longer summer. Autumn is in full swing. The chimney’s been swept and flames crackle along the logs in the fireplace. A nip is in the air and a wicked wind blows. The trees have taken on burning hues, molting their leaves and spicing the cooling breeze with their scent. Time to bundle up the dollies and capture it through the lens of a camera…

Today’s model is Summer Blues Misaki. Her hair has been washed, brushed and restyled with higher ponytails. She is wearing one of the fashions from the Poppy Parker as Corie Bratter: Barefoot in the Park giftset and boots from Fashion Royalty’s Checking Out Colette. Her photo was taken by the lake at Bushkill Falls about two weeks ago.

I hope ya’ll had a very Happy Easter. πŸ™‚ We spent time with the family and it was an awesomely fun, festive and foody fabulous time. Much laughter filled the house. And I was sorry to see the day end. The best get-togethers are like that. I’m already looking forward to the next time.

Misaki's Easter Egg Hunt

Misaki's Easter Egg Hunt

Today’s model is Summer Blues Misaki. She is wearing a couple of hair clips from the dollar store, a Barbie watch, a top (with a silkstone Barbie pin added to it) and shorts from the recent Artsy Fashionistas Barbie fashion pack and a pair of Barbie or Skipper sneakers. Her photo was taken in our front yard in the in-again/out-again morning sunlight. Her Easter basket was borrowed from one of the past Easter Barbies. And during her Easter egg hunt (check my Flicker for some of the rest of the photos – I loaded half tonight, you’ll have to wait ’til tomorrow for the conclusion because it’s getting late ;)) Misaki filled it to the brim with her finds. Her Easter eggs are actually malted milk eggs (and the leftover raindrops were making them melty during the photo shoot – oh, noes!). I hope you have as much fun viewing the photos as I did taking them.

Happy, Happy Easter!!!

It snowed again last night. We got about five inches and we were out shoveling the driveway at dawn. The almost-full moon hadn’t set yet, it was wild. The sun was in and out during most of the day, with blue skies and puffy clouds. Then the wind kicked up, the clouds turned gray and covered the sun…and a whiteout snow squall hit in the afternoon. It lasted just under an hour, and it was back to shoveling again. LOL, Mother Nature gave me a workout today. πŸ™‚ But in between the “real world” chores I found time to take a dollie outside for a few mini photo sessions. I love snow pictures! It was cold, but really fun.

Summer In Winter

Summer In Winter

Today’s model is Summer Blues Misaki. She’s wearing a My Scene hoodie, New Versailles Veronique’s white t-shirt, an ooak scarf made by me, striped arm warmers of unknown origins, a Barbie University of Georgia Tech cheerleader skirt, Anti-Social Girl Misaki’s striped tights and Amazon Exclusive Crazy Girl Misaki’s high-top sneaker boots. Her photo was taken out front, overlooking our side yard, in the bright morning sunlight.

So, I guess you figured out that I had a wonderful time dragging four Misakis all around Skylands for photos. I hope you aren’t tired of seeing so many shots from our visit. If you have, you’ll be happy to know that this is the final picture from the shoot at Skylands. (And if you haven’t seen enough, there’s plenty more on my Flickr pages, just click the link on the side. πŸ˜‰ ) I’ve saved the best for last, a group shot of the girls…

The Misaki Girls Invade Skylands

The Misaki Girls Invade Skylands

Whoo-Wee! This was a tough one setting up. They went over like dominoes a few times, but no dollies were harmed in the making of the photo. πŸ™‚ No trick photography here, just careful balancing and patience. It was much like building a house of cards, LOL. The photo was taken in the afternoon in bright (and hot, whew!) sunlight.

We’re still on vacation and doing day trips. Today’s location was Skylands manor and botanical gardens in New Jersey. It’s worth a look for the flowers alone, but you’ll also find beautiful architecture in the manor house and other buildings, fantastic ironwork on the gates and tons of statuary, detailed urns and whimsical fountains. It’s like something out of a fairytale.

Summer on the Goose Statue

Summer on the Goose Statue

One of the dolls I brought with me is Summer Blues Misaki. Here she does her best Mother Goose impression on a statue in the gardens. She’s wearing an older Barbie Hilary Duff fashion pack set and Fashion Royalty platform sandals. The photo was taken in the late afternoon under overcast skies.

It’s Saturday and the weather is beautiful. We took advantage of the day – went to the flea market (found great stuff!) and then spent some time outside by the lake in our community. There are fishes and frogs and turtles in the lake and it’s surrounded by a variety of trees. There are also little wildflowers to be found if you look. It’s a perfect picture spot for taking dollie photos.

Misaki in a Tree by the Lake

Misaki in a Tree by the Lake

I brought Summer Blues Misaki with me today. She’s had her original hairstyle changed: her hair’s been washed, ponytails taken out and set higher on her head. I added the polka-dotted hair ribbons. She’s wearing Integrity Toys RuPaul’s jeans, Barbie’s sneakers and a sweatshirt that I took from an action figure (A rhino that I found in Kmart a few years ago). The photo was taken in a flowering tree by the lakeΒ  in the early afternoon.
