Today’s model is ITBE Jolt Amelie from the Integrity Toys Gloss convention. Her hair has been brushed out and she has been redressed. Amelie is wearing Dream Teen Poppy’s dress, a 2014 sweater ornament from Christopher & Banks, (and though you can’t see them in these photos) the tights from Sweet In Switzerland and boots from Agent Kimiko Gunn. Her photo was taken on Thanksgiving morning (though it looks more like Christmas) in our front yard.

Yeah, it’s already autumn. Huh, I don’t know how that happened. The days sure do fly by. But, even though the calendar insists that it’s fall, the weather is still feeling rather summery. So, bear with me..indulge me…in a last celebration of summer.

Today’s models are Promenade Amelie and Misaki. Amelie is wearing Endless Summer Poppy Parker’s swim suit and a dollar store hair clip. Misaki is wearing Sunshine Games Poppy Parker’s bathing suit in the second and third photo and her original t-shirt, Barbie shorts, Endless Summer Poppy Parker’s sneakers and Fashion Royalty earrings and a bracelet in the last two images. The table, umbrella, chair and float are all pieces from an Arco brand Fashion Pool Set that I found at the local flea market. The first four photos were taken at the beach, the last one was taken in a game room on the boardwalk.

Continuing on with the beach theme, we also took a day trip to Point Pleasant, New Jersey while we were on vacation. This was actually during the first week of vacay, so technically I’m doing things backwards. Yeah, that’s how I roll. LOL 😉

Today’s model is Color Infusion: Cosmic Love Amelie. In the first couple of photos, she is wearing a Barbie sun visor, earrings made by me, Summer Blues Misaki’s swim suit & jacket, High Toned Rayna’s bracelet and sandals from a Barbie fashion multipack. She is sitting on an older Mattel Barbie lounge chair and has Barbie sunscreen and Summer Blues Misaki’s tote bag. Her photo was taken on the sand by our blanket.
In the last two photos, Amelie is wearing a Mattel Barbie top (possibly from a Fashion pack, I’m having a hard time remembering exactly), Queen of the hive Natalia’s short shorts, a Barbie headscarf (originally a sheer wrap that came with an evening dress) and High Tide Vanessa’s shoes. She is riding a remote controlled ATV that I found in Kmart. (I modified the ATV to better accommodate her long legs by removing and lowering the foot pegs on the vehicle.) Her photos were taken along the shoreline near the ocean and further up the beach towards the boardwalk.

We had a rare springlike day last week. Being outdoors actually felt civilized. And, just like that, I am ready to say good-bye to winter.

Today’s model is Color Infusion: Rebel Spirit Amelie. Her hair has been washed and restyled – I just couldn’t take that stiff Kewpie curl. She is wearing Something Sexy Adele’s sunglasses, People Do Fall In Love – Breakfast at Tiffany’s Holly Golightly’s sweater, Sassy Stripes Misaki’s shorts (I removed the attached net stockings – *snip, snip*), Barbie tights (the actual Barbie’s name eludes me – but it was probably from the 1990s – it came with a striped hat, tunic & boots), Lady Like Misaki’s shoes, ooak earrings (made by me), a Fashion Royalty necklace & bracelet, Aphrodisiac mini clone’s ring and Top Model Teresa’s purse. Amelie’s photo was taken in the afternoon, by an old brick column, in my Mom’s front yard.

Sometimes, the photo opportunities that present themselves are here for a moment and gone in a flash. I try to remember to have dolls dressed and ready so I don’t miss them. I also have a tendency not to give up on adverse conditions and squeeze everything I can out of them. In my opinion, trying and failing is alright – you still learn something. But not even bothering to try is unimaginable.
About a week and a half ago, the twelfth to be exact, a fast moving snow squall blew in. It was already evening and a bit on the gloomy side, but I snatched a doll out of the curio cabinet, grabbed my coat & boots and ran outside to try and make some magic. The squall only lasted about twenty minutes, the wind was downright tricky and the lighting was quite dark. Afterwards, some low angled sunshine peeped out and then promptly disappeared. I did, however, get some satisfying shots. 🙂 Once I warmed up indoors with a hot cup of cocoa, I was glad I gave it a go.

Every Day A Dollie has become more like Every Now And Then A Dollie, LOL. Yeah, yeah, I’ve been so not in the picture taking mode. But I was totally inspired by one of the new dolls to recently join my tribe. And after a hair washin’, a wardrobe change and some time in front of the camera in our yard – I’m back in the zone. 🙂

Today’s model is Cosmic Love Amelie. She’s from Fashion Royalty’s new Color Infusion line. I can’t say enough good things about her…well the whole line, really. Pure awesomeness. Anyway, Amelie has had her hair washed out and brushed. She is wearing earrings that I got with an ooak fashion on Ebay, a Fashion Royalty necklace and an LIV top. Today our cat, Rabbitt, had to be put to sleep. He fought cancer valiantly for over two years, but in the last few weeks, his fatigue was beginning to show. And in the last two days, he let us know he was very tired and needed to move on. In the fourteen years of his life, he brought so much joy into our lives. He was smart, so very smart, agile, an excellent climber, strong willed, quirky and such a love. I million words couldn’t describe how much we love him.
He also loved my dollies. If I put a doll on the floor or the furniture, he would walk over and lay down next to her, claiming her for his own. It was adorable to watch.

Today’s model is Ye-Ye Amelie. She is wearing a track suit borrowed from So In Style Pastry Grace. The photo was taken this afternoon while Rabbitt rested on our Wii board (a favorite sleeping spot for him) in our living room.

It seems not a day goes by without some rain in it. Sometimes it’s an all day affair, other times it sneaks up all loud and thundery in the afternoon. It’s like the rain forest here, or Florida…or England. They get a lot of rain, right? Anyway…we’ve been getting so much rain, I may start looking into the fine art of ark building. 😉

Sometimes you plan a photo, sometimes you get lucky and sometimes opportunities you never expected present themselves. I think it’s very exciting when this happens.
Snake Charmer Amelie
Today’s model is Ye-Ye Amelie. She is wearing a My Scene Barbie fashion, Summer Blues Misaki’s sandals and jewelry (necklace, bracelets and earrings) made by me. I originally took Amelie outside this evening with the intention of taking photos by the azaleas in our front garden. But when hubby nearly stepped on this snake (a harmless garter snake) sunning himself at the foot of our front porch steps, my plans were altered. He was a curious little one, not very skittish, so I got as near as I could without getting bitten, placed brave Amelie into the scene and shot pictures as quickly as I could. There’s a whole series of pictures on my Flickr photostream if you’d like to see the rest. The snake wasn’t frightened by Amelie at all and slithered right over her arm when he moved along. Oh, and if snakes aren’t really your thing, there are a couple of photos of Amelie without her new serpent friend on my Flickr photostream, also. LOL, I aim to please. 😉
