Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Holiday Zing

Holiday Zing

Today’s model is ITBE Zing from the Gloss convention. She is wearing Foto Fab Poppy’s dress, a Color Infusion jacket from the 2013 convention Style Lab and holds a matching cocktail (the chopped off top of a drink stirrer found at TJ Maxx). Her photo was taken yesterday by the wreath on our front door.

May Your Holiday Cheer

Last All Year!

We’re well into crunch time – the big day fast approaches. Soon it will be Christmas! I’ve been baking and decorating cookies, the tree has been trimmed and some of the presents are wrapped. I’ve been a busy little elf. We had a bit of snow, too. So, it truly is looking a lot like Christmas in these parts. Amid the hustle and bustle, I even found time to grab a few holiday dollie photos.

Season's Greetings!

Season’s Greetings!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Today’s model is Fame by Frame Imogen from the Tropicalia convention. She is wearing an elf hat crocheted by me, a sweater (sold as a tree ornament) from Christopher & Banks, LIV dolls Moolight Dance Daniela’s dress, Barbie stockings, boots from the 2008 “The Heist” convention Life of the Party fashion, Fashion Royalty earrings and bracelets and rings that are actually craft store jump rings from the jewelry department. I also created the wreath myself. It’s fashioned out of green wired holiday ribbon from Walmart and trimmed with a bow from a spool of ribbon found at Michaels in the dollar bin. Imogen’s photos were taken a couple of day’s ago in our yard – the first two in the front yard (in a snow pile that I carved a little path in – and, yes, she is standing on her own…with a little help from the snow. LOL) and the last image was taken in our backyard.

We Wish You A Merry Christmas

And A Happy New Year!

Wishing Everyone A Very Happy Holiday!

Today’s model is Great Pretender Lillith. She is wearing a dress from one of the past grocery store holiday Barbie dolls, Fashion Royalty stockings, shoes from a recent Fashion Royalty shoe pack (only available at the last convention or through the W club/Integrity Toys site), ooak earrings (made by me) and an ooak crocheted hat, scarf  & cuffs (also made by me). The bench was a lucky flea market find. Lillith’s photo was taken in our front yard near sunset yesterday evening.

Yay! Yay! It’s Christmas Day!

It’s Christmas night. Many packages have been opened (I feel spoiled by all the awesomeness gifted to me this year!), much food has been consumed (wine, appetizers, Norwegian cheese, ribbon candy, a baked ham dinner and gads of tasty dessert items) and the festive chaos of visiting with family was very much enjoyed. I’m back home now and snuggled into my footie pajamas and Nightmare Before Christmas snuggie, all sleepy-eyed and smiling.

Poppy & her Teddy Bear in front of the Christmas Tree at Mom's House

Poppy & her Teddy Bear in front of the Christmas Tree at Mom's House

This is Tears Go By Poppy Parker. She is one of many dollie presents that I received today. She is wearing her original earrings and patterned tights, a Holiday Barbie dress, Fashion Royalty shoes and a pearl necklace that I think came with another Poppy doll. Her teddy bear is one that I’ve had so long that I don’t even remember where it came from anymore. Poppy is standing on the arm of the couch in the living room in front of Mom’s fiber-optic Christmas tree.

From Our House To Yours, We Wish You A Very Merry Christmas.

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is all the time I get to spend with the people I love. I’ve been out shopping with several family members this month and I got to bake cookies with Mom and visited with my stepdad. I’m looking forward to Christmas day when my hubby and I go over to Mom’s house and see everyone. Her little house gets packed to the gills with family and friends. The ones that live out of state will get a phone call and we’ll pass the cordless around so everyone gets to say hello. The skype is set up for a video call to my stepsister and her family in England.

Happy Holidays Dollie Display

Happy Holidays Dollie Display

Just like my family gets together for the holidays, so do my dolls. I put together a snowy display area for them on top of my entertainment center. I mentioned the specifics yesterday – it’s the same background as I used for Agnes’ photo shoot, but she’s got some company now. 😉 There are Misakis, a Bratz, Momoko, Barbies, Poppy Parkers, a Dynamite Girl and Fashion Royalty gals. I added a sleigh, though it’s tough to see through the crowd, LOL.

May Your Holidays Be Rich With Family, Friends And Good Cheer.

And that’s about all I can do.  We haven’t had a significant snowfall yet this year. I’d love to take some outdoor snow photos, but the weather will not cooperate.  Not that it hasn’t been cold. We’ve had below average temperatures all month. And the wind has been howling like a hungry wolf.

Holiday Agnes

Holiday Agnes

Since there is no real snow, I decided to put together a snowy display for my dolls on top of the entertainment center in my living room. I put a layer of fleece artificial snow down and scattered some paper punched snowflakes upon it. I taped together three foam core boards to form a trifold background. I added braces across the top and strung it with blue lights.  I adorned the front with silver ribbon and hung dollar store snowflakes from the top. Then, I added a pair of pewter candlesticks and topped them with a silver shelf.

My model is Optic Verve Agnes. She is wearing Winter Concert Barbie’s gown (it was sewn onto the original doll, so I’m going to have to add snaps to it – for now it was just open in the back). I also made a little advent wreath for her head, but I  didn’t add any candles.

I shot the scene with a full strength flash and still had to lighten the pictures up a bit. I didn’t do any color correcting as I liked the silvery tones I ended up with.

May Your Days Be Merry And Bright,
And May All Your Christmases Be White.

Do you remember cutting out paper snowflakes when you where a kid? I do. It was a lot of fun. I remember cutting shapes into the pattern, especially hearts and Christmas trees. I also remember the mess of little white bits everywhere. Good times. 🙂

Cole And The Paper SnowFlakes

Cole And The Paper SnowFlakes

Today’s model is Odd Girl Out Colette. She is wearing a Barbie Santa hat and Christmas dress, Red Rabbit Misaki’s stockings, Urban Outfitting Nadja’s gloves, Fire Fly Agnes’ boots and a scarf that I made myself. She’s holding a paper snowflake garland that I found a Target a few years ago. She’s standing on a ladder that you’ve seen in previous shoots. And if the background looks familiar, it’s because it’s taken in front of the Christmas tree and decked out pine garlands surrounding the front windows in my living room.

Since There’s Still No Snow Falling Outside,

We’ll Have to Make Our Own Snowflakes.

Well, we’re getting down to crunch time. The holidays are in full swing. The house is decorated, the majority of the gifts have been acquired, cards have been sent out and many of the packages have been wrapped. With Christmas a mere week away, there are still a few things left to do. Cookies will soon be made, a few last-minute gifts will be shopped for and the remaining presents will be wrapped up and placed under the tree. Everything is falling into place.

Barbie Decks The Halls

Barbie Decks The Halls

Today’s model  is Gorgeous Greetings Happy Birthday Angel Barbie. She is wearing the blouse from BFMC Teacher silkstone Barbie, a  plaid skirt of unknown origins, silkstone Barbie’s black hose and a pair of boots from one of the holiday Barbie dolls. The “decked out hall ” in the background is actually the mirror over my fireplace mantle that is draped in artificial pine garland and laden with a multitude of holiday ornaments, lights, glass icicles and acrylic “crystal” bead garlands. A half-strength flash with a gauze filter was used to light the scene.

Christmas Is Coming

Yup. There’s no denying it. Christmas is coming. Soon. I just spent the day holiday shopping with my mom and my aunt. Great fun. Lots of deals. I love spending time with my family. That’s one of my favorite things about the holidays. I have more shopping trips with family scheduled soon and then cookie baking. And before long, Christmas will be here.

Momoko In Front Of The Tree

Momoko In Front Of The Tree

Today’s model is Wild & Sexy Tune Momoko. She is wearing a Lollipop Girls coat, a scarf I made, mittens that are attached to a Christopher & Banks sweater (sold as a holiday ornament), One Modern Circle Barbie’s trousers and Pop Life Kelly’s boots. She is standing in front of the fiber-optic Christmas tree at my mom’s house. The late evening light coming in the window lights the scene.

Christmas Is Coming. It’s Practically Here!

So, nothing says Christmas like kitties. LOL. Okay, if you are a cat lover. My husband and I share our home with two felines: a fourteen year old boy cat named Rabbitt (an abbreviated tail is the reason for his name) and an almost two year old girl named Bella. Rabbitt is a big boy with black and  gray stripey markings on a white background. Bell is a fantastically marked Siamese and tortoise shell mix. They are the joy of our lives and much of the household activity revolves around them. They get turkey on Thanksgiving and presents at Christmas time. Our home just wouldn’t be the same without them.

Phyzzlpyph & Horatio in front of the Christmas Tree

Phyzzlpyph & Horatio in front of the Christmas Tree

Today’s models are both ball-jointed anthro cat dolls from Pipos. Horatio is the Baha model and Phyzzlpyph is the Ringo model. Pyph is wearing a Bratz dress and a Barbie Santa hat. Horatio is wearing woven leggings with suspenders that I bought a few years ago at Target (a Christmas ornament), ooak elf shoes I found at a doll show and a hat that I made for him myself. Their packages are Christmas decorations. The tree was found at A.C.Moore. The floor of their home is a velvet and satin holiday placemat. The wall is foam core with holiday scrapbook paper pinned to it. I used two lamps to light the scene and also turned on the camera’s flash.
