Today’s model is The Girl From I..N.T.E.G.R.I.T.Y. Poppy Parker, a W Club exclusive from the new Spy Poppy line. Her hair was been washed and brushed out. She is wearing the Barbie: Top Model Resort Summer dress and Dynamite Girls: Love Revolution – Natural Beauty Tooka’s shoes. Her photo was taken in the middle of September in our backyard. I adore her dramatic looks and sassy hairstyle. She’s a special gem in my collection and I just love her to bits!

Today’s model is Poppy Parker as Sabrina: Miss Fairchild. Her hair has been washed and brushed out. She is wearing Dynamite Girls Check Mates: Heat Wave Aria’s hat, Palm Beach Swimsuit silkstone Barbie’s sunglasses (first photo), Fashion Royalty sunglasses (second photo), a top that I’m not sure where it came from (Barbie? LIV dolls?), shorts from a Barbie fashion pack and Bonjour Misaki’s sandals. The first photo was taken in our front yard, by a hanging basket on our porch, the second and third photo were taken in our backyard and the last photo was taken in our front yard.

These images were captured way back at the end of June, taken over two days. Miss Sabrina truly enchanted me. I was bewitched by her delicate beauty. I am surprised that a short-haired doll can exude such a girly vibe, but she does. I’m just thrilled to have her in my collection.

Today’s models are Ask Any Girl Poppy Parker and a one-of-a-kind rerooted Look of Love Poppy Parker with repainted lips.

Ask Any Girl is wearing Stylish Escape Veronique’s sunglasses, an unknown Mattel Barbie top (possibly Fashion Avenue or My Scene), Holiday in the Hamptons Poppy’s trousers, Bonjour Misaki’s sandals and handmade jewelry (earrings & bracelets) made by me. She is carrying luggage from the Poppy Parker as Sabrina Most Sophisticated giftset. Photo #1 was taken at the front door to our room, photo #2 was taken in the room on the entertainment center.

Our second model is wearing Pretty in Plaid Barbie’s dress, Jet Set: High Toned Rayna’s bracelets & earrings and My Scene sunglasses. She is carrying luggage from the Poppy Parker as Sabrina Most Sophisticated giftset and Girl of the Moment Veronique’s train case. Her photo was taken on our room’s balcony.

There are newer, more posh places to stay in Wildwood, but none have what I consider the perfect location & view. Looking out from our balcony, you can see the boardwalk, beach & ocean. At night you can see the rides lit up on the piers in the distance. The great “Wildwoods” sign is center stage, with huge concrete beach balls leading up to it – such a fab photo spot!

We had a most excellent time and there are many more photos to come…eventually. 😉

Are You Ready For The Summer?

As you can see by the new header on my blog, I am. I’ve been on a creative jag lately – crocheting bikinis and making jewelry for my dolls. So, I nabbed some of Poppy Parker dolls from my collection and dressed them up to show ’em off. We got a sunny day yesterday (Hurray! No rain. It’s been raining nearly every day for ages here.) and I decided to put the good weather to use. I dragged all of them, my cameras and myself outside for photo time.

Today’s models’ names are listed under each image. Their photos were taken on the lower deck in our back yard in the late afternoon. LOL, I loaded them all into a box, set them up and clicked away. It was quite a challenge, shooting thirteen dolls (attempting to pose them naturally and in an interesting way while trying not to knock them over) with the sun beating down on me and a few insects trying to get noticed by this paparazzi (buzz, buzzzz). But, all in all, I’d say it was a success. Kinda makes me want to drag out my Barbie swimming pool and set it up for a full day’s shoot…we’ll see. I’ve got a new doll that I’m just GaGa over. (*pun intended, tee-hee!) She’s a beauty and a cutie and I’m oh, so glad she’s mine.

Erin Rocks A New Bikini

Today’s model is the W club exclusive You Look So Fine Erin from the Rock Wedding Trio. She’s the last doll made with the original face mold, future issues will use a new one. I’ve collected every incarnation of Erin – she’s been a fave of mine since her introduction. I still remember gasping over the prototype shown during an after hours party at FAO Schwarz in NYC. It’s the end of an era, I tell ya. But at least she goes out on top, as I believe this is one of the prettiest versions of her. And they gave Erin teeth this time – usually her lips are painted to look slightly parted, with the space merely shadowed – now her pearly whites are painted in. Such a fun, different look for our little NuFace model! She seems breathless and flirty…and a bit knowing. What secrets could you tell us Miss Salston? LOL.

Anyway, onto the particulars…

Erin’s hair was washed out, combed and air dried for this photo shoot. She is wearing a crocheted bikini (so hot right now) made by me, a Fashion Royalty cuff bracelet, one of a kind earrings and beaded link bracelet created by yours truly, Barbie’s shoes (not sure if they are silkstone or a best models editions)  and she holds DG Jasper’s hat.

Both photos were taken on a partly cloudy day last month (I’m always so behind getting to the photos lately, oh well) in the afternoon. The first was taken on an old mill wheel against our fence, the next was taken by a tree in our side yard. Tree Climbing

I climbed trees when I was a kid, much younger than I am now. I remember spending hours just hanging out up in a tree talking with one my neighborhood friends, watching the world go by. LOL, it’s funny how something that seemed such a simple feat back then leaves me shaking my head in wonder now. You won’t catch me risking a fall (and probably painful broken bones) these days. Casual Formality

I love to mix things up. I’m not a “dressy-dressy” type person. I don’t know why, but I seem to resist the whole elegant/fancy/classy type looks thing. Maybe it’s just too serious for me. I like a little humor/silliness/opposition…tongue -in-cheek/cheekiness/sarcasm/tomfoolery…..I just can’t help but be a nonconformist. I’m bratty like that.

That’s not to say I won’t swoon over a beautiful gown every now and then. It just means that I’ll probably pair a sequin dream of a dress with pigtails and bare feet. LOL.
